Smart TV Setup Guide

Install IPTV France on your Samsung or LG Smart TV: find an IPTV player in the app store, enter your access details, start watching.

Most Samsung and LG TVs from the last few years can run an IPTV player app straight from their built-in app store — no extra box needed. Install a player, enter the access details you received by email or WhatsApp after your free trial or subscription, wait for the channels to load, and you’re watching. The whole thing takes about 10–15 minutes.

What you need before you start

  • A compatible Smart TV — Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS), or a TV with Android TV / Google TV built in (Sony, TCL, Philips and others). Roughly: models from 2018 onward usually work; older ones may not.
  • Your IPTV France access details — the server address, username and password (or M3U playlist link) from the message we sent you. Keep it open on your phone for easy copying.
  • A stable internet connection — around 15 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps or more for 4K. If your TV has an Ethernet port and the router is nearby, a cable beats Wi-Fi every time.

Step-by-step: Samsung TV (Tizen)

  1. Press the Home button on your remote and open Apps.
  2. Select the search icon and type “IPTV player”.
  3. Install one of the available player apps — pick one with good ratings and recent updates.
  4. Open the app. Choose Xtream Codes API login if offered — it’s the simplest method and the programme guide configures itself. (Our Xtream Codes & M3U guide explains the alternative.)
  5. Enter the access details we sent you — server address, username, password — exactly as written. Details are usually case-sensitive, so copy carefully.
  6. Wait for the channel list and on-demand library to load (a few minutes the first time), then browse by category and start watching.
  7. Tip: long-press the OK button on a channel to add it to favourites — much faster than scrolling every time.

Step-by-step: LG TV (webOS)

  1. Press the Home button on your remote and open the LG Content Store.
  2. Search for “IPTV player” and install a player app.
  3. Open the app and choose Xtream Codes API login where available.
  4. Enter your access details from the email or WhatsApp message we sent you.
  5. Let the content load, then browse and watch.
  6. Note: LG TVs sometimes keep you logged in even after the app updates — but if you’re ever signed out, your access details are in the original message we sent you. Keep it saved somewhere handy.

Step-by-step: Android TV built in (Sony, TCL, Philips…)

If your TV runs Android TV or Google TV, setup is identical to any Android TV device: open the Play Store on the TV, install a TV-optimized IPTV player, and sign in with your Xtream Codes details. Typing with the remote is slow — use your phone as a keyboard if the TV offers it. Full walkthrough in our Android setup guide.

What if my TV is too old?

TVs older than about 2018 sometimes can’t install IPTV player apps at all, or run them very slowly. Quick check: open your TV’s app store and search for “IPTV player” — if nothing suitable appears, your TV isn’t a good candidate.

The simplest fix is a Firestick (a small HDMI stick, roughly €30–40): plug it into any HDMI port and your “dumb” TV becomes a smart one. Follow our Firestick setup guide — it takes 10 minutes. A Chromecast with Google TV works the same way; see the Android guide.

Which player app should I install?

Your TV’s app store only carries a handful of IPTV players (Samsung and LG curate theirs tightly). That’s fine — any of them works with our Xtream or M3U access. Choose based on:

  • Recent updates — an app updated in the last few months is maintained; one untouched for two years is not.
  • TV-friendly interface — big tiles and categories you can navigate with arrow keys, not a phone layout shrunk onto a TV.
  • EPG support — the programme guide should fill automatically with an Xtream login.

Some player apps are free with ads; others cost a few euros once. For a TV you watch daily, the paid ones are usually worth it.

Common problems and fixes

No IPTV player in my TV’s app store

Older Samsung/LG models have a smaller app selection. First check for a TV software update (Settings → Support → Software Update on Samsung; Settings → All Settings → General → About on LG) — updates sometimes add apps. If there’s still nothing, a Firestick is the practical answer.

“Invalid login details”

Copy the details again from our message, character for character — no extra spaces, exact upper/lowercase. This fixes the large majority of login failures. Still stuck? Our EPG & login fixes cover the rest.

The app is slow or freezes

Smart TV processors are weaker than phones. Close the app fully (don’t just go Home — use the app switcher or force-stop), reopen it, and if problems persist, restart the TV (unplug 30 seconds, not just standby). Clearing the app’s cache in the TV settings also helps.

Channels load but the guide is empty

Give the first EPG sync up to 10 minutes. With an M3U login, check you also entered the EPG URL from your access details — the playlist alone doesn’t include the guide.

Picture but no sound (or vice versa)

Usually a codec the TV can’t handle on that particular channel. Try another channel first — if most work and one doesn’t, it’s the stream, not your setup. If nothing has sound, check the TV’s audio output settings (PCM/Stereo is the safest).

4K channels stutter but HD is fine

Your Wi-Fi can’t keep up, or the TV’s processor can’t decode the stream smoothly. Switch to a wired connection if possible, or stick to the HD versions of channels — on most living-room TVs the difference is hard to spot.

Tips for the best quality

  • Wire it if you can. An Ethernet cable to the TV is the single biggest quality upgrade — no Wi-Fi dropouts during matches.
  • Keep the player app updated through your TV’s app store.
  • Restart the TV weekly. TVs in standby for weeks accumulate glitches; a full restart (unplug, wait, replug) clears them.
  • Use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band if you’re on wireless — less interference than 2.4 GHz.
  • Lower expectations on very old TVs — a 2016 TV will play HD fine but may choke on 4K. That’s the hardware, not the service.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Firestick if I have a Smart TV?

No — if your TV’s app store has an IPTV player, install it directly. A Firestick only makes sense for old TVs or if you prefer its interface.

Will this void my TV warranty?

No. You’re installing a regular app from the TV’s official store — nothing is modified or jailbroken.

Can I record programmes?

Some player apps support recording to a USB drive plugged into the TV. Check the app’s features — recording isn’t available in every player.

Does it work on hotel or dorm Wi-Fi?

Sometimes, but captive portals (login pages) can block the player. A phone hotspot usually works better in those situations.

Can the whole family use it at once?

Your subscription covers personal and household use. Install the player on the household TVs and sign in with the same details — see pricing and terms for specifics.
